Hi
We have a 4 port DVS. Is it possible to record the feeds from the cameras into one file side by side instead of 4 different files?
Thanks

There are different folders for each camera.

Hi Jim
I see that it stores into 4 different folders. I would like to know if it is possible to record feeds from all the four cameras into one single file side by side.
Thanks

Hi Jim
Is there a possibility of achieving this? I want to record the camera feeds side by side and into one single file.
Thanks

Yes, this is possible, but I am not sure where you are recording the video. If you are recording to an internal SD card, then you might be at the mercy of the how the OS or firmware handles it. However, if you are using the M7 RSS or the M7 CMS software, you have the ability to change the location of the recording.
By default, all 4 cameras/ports will be recorded to different folders. However, if you are like me, all four ports are used for cameras in the same building. Therefore, I would like to be able to review video from all cameras at this location.
For example, in the M7 CMS software you'll have to select the "Schedule REC" radio button. Once you do this, you can go in to the "Set Schedule..." settings. In these settings, you will see the location on your drive where the files are recorded. You can just browse to a newly created folder. In this setup box, you'll also see "Camera Select:". Use this to select each of the 4 cameras. You'll have to change the recording location for all cameras.
This makes it so much easier for reviewing video at a later time. The only thing to keep in mind is that the M7 software does not keep subfolders for days or hours. Most vendors do this. It helps to speed up the review process as it doesn't have to sort through thousands of files in one folder. By putting all these feeds in to one folder, it may delay your access time when you go to review video in the future. It's been a workable solution for me.
It is a very similar setup if you use the M7 RSS software as well.
